The last departure platform. Jew transports from Brno in 1941-1945

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na určitou fázi holocaustu, kterou byly deportace protektorátních židů do Terezína, nebo přímo do východních ghett. Předmětem práce byly židovské transporty z Brna, jenž odjížděly v různé intenzitě od listopadu 1941 do podzimu 1944. Osoby z posledních transportů se dostaly před Prahu Terezína v prvních měsících roku 1945. Cílem práce bylo popsat, jak byla tato deportační fáze organizována, jak probíhala a jaké výsledky přinesla. V jednotlivých kapitolách jsou postupně sledovány hlavní body, kterými deporatční fáze prošla: od změny postavení protektorátních židů a jejich organizaci, přes plány na deportace, složky moci, jenž se na jejich organizaci podílely, samotnou realizaci transportů od sromáždění zařazených osob až po jejich odjetí. Hlavní část práce přibližuje jednotlivé transporty z Brna, srovnává je, podle původu, věkové struktury a dalších osudů zařazených lidí. Poslední kapitoly jsou věnovány místům úmrtí, kde většina osob z brněnských transportů zahynula, a také místům osvobození, kde se dočkaly konce války.

Abstract:

The work is focused on certain period of holocaust in which deportations of protectorate Jews to Terezin or directly to eastern ghettos took place. The subject of this work is Jew transports from Brno leaving in various intensity from November 1941 to autumn 1944. People from last transports came to Terezín via Prague during first months in 1945. The aim of this work was to describe how the deportation period was organized, how it proceeded and what results it brought. There are main points touched by the deportation period observed in several chapters: from the change of the situation of protectorate Jews and their organizations through plans of the deportations, bodies which participated in the organization of the transports, the realization itself from the gathering of registered persons to their leave. The main part of the work deals with particular transports from Brno, it compares them according to the origin of registrated persons, their age structure and further destiny. Last chapters are dedicated to places where most people from the Brno´s transports died or were liberated.
