Influence of chemical protection against weeds on natural and artificial regeneration - forest district Vranov u Brna, School Forest Enterprise MF Křtiny

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá studiem vlivu celoplošného chemického postřiku proti buřeni v době vegetačního klidu na zdravotní stav a odrůstání přirozené a umělé obnovy douglasky tisolisté (Pseudotsuga menziesii), jedle bělokoré (Abies alba), borovice lesní (Pinus sylvestris) a modřínu opadavého (Larix decidua). Výzkum byl proveden na dvou lokalitách Školního lesního podniku Masarykův les Křtiny. Na obou lokalitách byly vytvořeny čtyři plochy (skupiny), kdy na třech plochách proběhl v období vegetačního klidu postřik neselektivním herbicidem (každá plocha v jiném termínu) a jedna plocha byla kontrolní bez postřiku. Na počátku následujícího vegetačního období bylo provedeno vyhodnocení poškozenosti jak stromků, tak i buřeně. Data z terénního vyhodnocení byla statisticky analyzována prostřednictvím analýzy rozptylu a Dunnettova testu mnohonásobného porovnávání. K vyhodnocení nejvhodnějšího termínu a tedy i nejvhodnějších klimatických podmínek byla analyzována i klimatická data z nedaleké klimastanice v Brně-Řečkovicích. Hypotéza, že díky vytrvání asimilačního aparátu buřeně v zeleném stavu i přes období vegetačního klidu bude buřeň postřikem potlačena a naproti tomu zdravotní stav jehličnanů nebude postřikem provedeným v období vegetačního klidu ovlivněn, se nepotvrdila, protože u každé lokality byl na jedné ploše prokázán statisticky významný rozdíl ve stupni poškození ve srovnání s kontrolní plochou. Bez ohledu na lokalitu byl pak statisticky významný rozdíl ve stupni poškození ve srovnání s kontrolními plochami prokázán hned u dvou ploch. Celkově byla postřikem velmi negativně ovlivněna douglaska, která často vykazovala velmi silné poškození až odumření. Minimálně pak byla postřikem ovlivněna jedle, u které se poškození objevovalo pouze výjimečně. Vzhledem k nejnižšímu stupni poškození cílových dřevin a zároveň k nejvyššímu stupni poškození buřeně byl vyhodnocen jako nejlepší postřik na konci období vegetačního klidu (18.–21. 4.), kdy již byla znatelně vyšší průměrná teplota vzduchu a půdy a nižší průměrná vlhkost vzduchu než u předešlých dvou termínů.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the study of the influence of overall chemical spraying against weeds during the dormant season on the health and growth of natural and artificial regeneration of Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), white fir (Abies alba), Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) and larch (Larix decidua). The research was carried out at two localities of School Forest Enterprise Masaryk's Forest Křtiny. Four plots (groups) were created at both research sites. During the dormancy period, spraying with a non-selective herbicide was carried out on three plots (each plot on a different date) and one plot was left without spraying (control plot). At the beginning of the following growing season, the damage to both trees and weeds was evaluated. Field evaluation data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance and Dunnett's multiple comparison test. To evaluate the most suitable date and thus the most suitable climatic conditions, climatic data from a nearby climate station in Brno-Řečkovice were also analyzed. The hypothesis that due to the persistence of the assimilation apparatus of weeds in the green state despite the dormancy period, weeds will be suppressed by spraying, and on the other hand the health of coniferous regeneration will not be affected by spraying during the dormancy period was not confirmed, because each research site showed a statistically significant difference in the degree of damage in comparison to the control plot on one plot. Regardless of the locality, a statistically significant difference in the degree of damage in comparison to the control plots was demonstrated on the two plots. Overall, Douglas fir was very negatively affected by the spraying and often showed very severe damage or even death. At the same time, white fir was minimally affected by spraying, and the damage occurred only exceptionally. Due to the lowest degree of damage of the target trees and also the highest degree of damage of weeds, spraying at the end of the dormant period (April 18–21), when the average air and soil temperature were significantly higher and the average air humidity was lower compared to previous two dates, was evaluated as the best.
