Universal tool for measuring physical quantities

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the design and the implementation of an universal device which measures physical quantities. Communication is processed in accordance with the communication protocol Modbus over a serial line, The theoretical part of the thesis describes general characteristics of fieldbuses, a specification of communication through the Modbus protocol and an introduction to the technologies which were used in the implementation of the device. The result of this thesis is a device which communicates with the measurement node and saves the measured physical data into a database accompanied by a web application where user can display the data and has the possibility to configurate communication parameters.

Abstract:

Táto práca sa venuje návrhu a implementácii univerzálneho zariadenia na meranie fyzikálnych veličín. Komunikácia prebieha v súlade s priemyselným komunikačným protokolom Modbus po sériovej linke. Teoretická časť práce sa zaoberá všeobecnými vlastnosťami komunikačných zberníc, špecifikáciou protokolu Modbus a predstavením technológii, ktoré som využil pri realizácii nástroja. Výsledkom práce je zariadenie, ktoré komunikuje s meracím uzlom a ukladá namerané fyzikálne veličiny do databázy. Tieto dáta je možné prostredníctvom webovej aplikácie zobrazovať užívateľovi. Dôležitou súčasťou je taktiež možnosť nakonfigurovať komunikačné parametre priamo vo webovej aplikácii.
