Abstract:

V této dizertační práci zkoumáme různé jevy jak v globální, tak lokální supersymetrii. První část této práce je věnována narušení N=1 supersymetrie. Jmenovitě se zabýváme modelem pro komplexně linearní superpole, který narušuje supersymetrii úplně novým způsobem. Narušení supersymetrie v tomto modelu je na rozdíl od teorie pro chirální superpole s lineárním superpotenciálem realizováno členy s více superprostorovými derivacemi. Daný model jednak neobsahuje duchová pole a jeho Goldstonův fermion je popsán dříve (pro volnou teorii) pomocným fermionem. Vlastnosti nového mechanismu ilustrujeme na jednoduchých modelech jak v 4D, tak v 2D. Dalším tématem je částečné narušení supersymetrie. Zaměřili jsme se na nejjednodušší případ, kdy superpartner Goldstonova fermionu je skalární pole a jmenovitě na popis O(2p) hypermultipletů. Částečné narušení supersymetrie lze realizovat tak, že se přidají nelineární členy k N=2 supersymetrické transformaci, což vede k deformaci hypermultipletů. To může být interpretováno jako netriviální působení centrálního náboje. Proto jsme využili pro popis dané situace projektivní superprostor s centrálním nábojem. Výhoda tohoto přístupu je ta, že lze takto popsat do jednoho celku jak známé modely z literatury, tak generovat modely nové. Konkrétně ilustrujeme obecnou metodu na modelech pro O(2) hypermultiplet. Studium členů s vyššími superprostorovými derivacemi nás motivovalo k otázce, jak se obecná teorie pro jedno komplexně lineární superpole váže na linearizovanou supergravitaci. Pomocí superprostorové Noetherovské procedury jsme našli jednoduchou metodu, jak nalézt jaká formulace supergravitace může interagovat s danou teorií. Dále jsme aplikovali obecnou metodu na případ členů s vyššími derivacemi. V poslední části jsme zobecnili předchozí metodu pro supermultiplety popisující vyšší spiny. Zabývali jsme se interakcí mezi volnou teorií pro komplexně lineární superpole s nekonečnou řadou supermultipletů popisujících vyšší spiny. V tomto případě jsem také studovali chirální-komplexně lineární dualitu.

Abstract:

In this thesis, we discuss different phenomena occurring in both global and local supersymmetry. The first part of the work is devoted to N=1 supersymmetry breaking. We study a recent model for a complex linear superfield that breaks supersymmetry in an entirely new way. In contrast to the theory containing a chiral superfield with a linear superpotential, here we use superspace higher derivative terms to introduce supersymmetry breaking. For a specific model, we find a ghost-free theory where the Goldstone fermion is described by a previously (in the free theory) auxiliary fermion. We study different aspects of this mechanism both in 4D and 2D. Our next topic is partial N=2 supersymmetry breaking. To put it more concretely, we focus on a case where the superpartner of the Goldstone fermion is a scalar field. Partial supersymmetry breaking, non-linearly realized, implies the existence of non-linear terms in the N=2 supersymmetry transformation. This can be interpreted as a non-trivial action of a central charge, and it leads to deformed hypermultiplets. Therefore, we use projective superspace with central charges as our primary tool to describe the situation at hand. The main advantage of this approach is that it unifies models known in the literature, and new models into one description. Primarily, we illustrate our method on the deformed O(2) hypermultiplet. Motivated by our study of superspace higher derivative terms in a theory containing a complex linear superfield, we describe how a generic theory with a single complex linear superfield couples to linearized supergravity, i.e., we find expressions for the supercurrents. Using the superspace Noether procedure, we introduce a simple method to find the appropriate formulation of supergravity which one has to use. We apply the method for superspace higher derivative terms. In the last part, we generalize the previous method for higher spin supermultiplets. We couple the free theory of a complex linear superfield to an infinite tower of higher spin supermultiplets. In this setting, we also discuss the chiral-complex linear duality.
