Abstract:
This thesis focuses on the issue of the portrayal of women in three neo-Victorian novels: Possession (1990) by A. S. Byatt, The French Lieutenant’s Woman (1969) by John Fowles and Wide Sargasso Sea (1966) by Jean Rhys.
