The image of childhood in the Czech lands of the 1960´s period and so-called Normalisation in the Czech film production

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je vykreslit dětskou každodennost 60. let 20. století a období tzv. normalizace v dobové filmové tvorbě a ve filmech natočených po roce 1989, které se snaží zkoumané období nějakým způsobem reflektovat. Zjištěné poznatky jsou komparované s fakty z odborné literatury, které zároveň dotváří celkový obraz dětství. První tři kapitoly jsou čistě teoretické. Nejprve se zabýváme problematikou dětství zejména v české historiografii, poté nastiňujeme politické pozadí sledovaného období a ve třetí kapitole rozebíráme televizní a filmovou tvorbou té doby. Další kapitoly jsou převážně praktické, zaměřené na každodenní život dětí zobrazený ve filmech. Čtvrtá kapitola se zaobírá rodinou a rodinným zázemím, pátá kapitola pojednává o školním prostředí a jakým způsobem do něj zasahovala ideologie režimu. V kapitole následující je věnován prostor problematice ústavní výchovy, která nahrazovala funkci rodiny. V nejrozsáhlejší sedmé kapitole jsou pak popsány různorodé způsoby trávení volného času dětí a v kapitole poslední jsou shrnuty poznatky o tehdejších sladkostech oblíbených u dětí.

Abstract:

The objective of the master's thesis is portraying children's dailiness in 1960's and in the period of so called normalization in the filmmaking of the period and in films made after 1989, which try to reflect the researched period. Ascertained findings are compared with facts in specialized literature, which makes the image of childhood complete at the same time. The first three chapters are purely theoretical. Initially, we deal with the issue of childhood, especially in Czech historiography, afterwards, we outline political background of the observed period and we analyze television and film production of the period. Next chapters are mostly practical, focused on daily lives of the children portrayed in the films. The fourth chapter deals with family and its environment, the fifth chapter concerns school environment and how the ideology of the regime interfered in it. The following chapter focuses on the issue of the institutional care which replaced the role of family. Various ways of spending children's leisure time are described in the seventh, the most extensive chapter, and the last chapter summarizes knowledge of the then confectionery popular with children.
