Interpol and international police cooperation

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou mezinárodní policejní spolupráce se zaměřením na organizaci Interpol. Jejím cílem je předložit ucelenou charakteristiku organizace Interpol s důrazem na její historický vývoj, klíčové dokumenty (Statut Interpolu), cíle a prostředky pro usnadnění mezinárodní spolupráce. Text diplomové práce je rozdělen na teoretickou a praktickou část – v části teoretické jsou předloženy výsledky teoretické rešerše odborných zdrojů, v části praktické jsou realizovány analýzy konkrétních operací Interpolu. Konkrétně se jedná o operaci Koala, zaměřenou na boj proti zneužívání dětí, operaci Opson, mířenou proti falšování a pašování potravin, operaci Hydra, orientující se proti pašování lidí, operaci Pandora, potírající nezákonné obchodování s kulturními statky, a operaci Liberterra, zaměřující se na obchodování s lidmi a pašování lidí. V práci je kladen důraz mimo jiné i na organizace, s nimiž Interpol těsně spolupracuje – jedná se zejména o Europol.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of international police cooperation with a focus on the organization Interpol. Its aim is to present a comprehensive description of the Interpol organization with emphasis on its historical development, key documents (Interpol Statute), goals and means to facilitate international cooperation. The text of the diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part – in the theoretical part are presented the results of a theoretical search of professional sources, in the practical part are carried out analyzes of specific operations of Interpol. These include Operation Koala to combat child abuse, Operation Opson to combat food counterfeiting and smuggling, Operation Hydra to combat human smuggling, Operation Pandora to combat the illicit trade in cultural goods and Operation Liberterra to human trafficking and smuggling. The work emphasizes, among other things, the organizations with which Interpol works closely – especially Europol.
