The aim of this thesis is to analyze jurnalistic texts on the problem of HIV and AIDS in order to find out whether and how expressive language features are utilized there. The thesis is based on the assumption that expressiveness is shaped by emotions and personal evaluations that are recognizable on the lexical, syntactic and textual level. Cílem této diplomové práce je zjistit, zda a popřípadě jakým způsobem se v publicistických textech s HIV a AIDS tematikou vyskytují expresivní jazykové prvky. Tato práce vychází z faktu, že expresivita je utvářena především emocemi a hodnoceními, které je možno rozpoznat na lexikální, syntaktické i textové rovine.
