Abstract:

Tato práce si klade za cíl prozkoumat AI narativy a analyzovat způsoby, jakými filozofický koncept osoby ovlivňuje zobrazování a vnímání AI postav. Tvrdí, že tento koncept je důležitým tématem nejen v rámci samotných příběhů, ale také z hlediska toho, jak diváci a čtenáři reagují na tyto postavy. Práce zkoumá naratologické techniky používané k vyvolání afektivních reakcí a jak konkrétně tyto techniky ovlivňují to, zda jsou dané AI postavy vnímány jako osoby. Hlavní důraz je kladen na roli perspektivy, jakož i na způsoby, jakými se diváci identifikují s AI postavami, či jak s nimi sympatizují a soucítí.

Abstract:

This thesis aims to examine AI narratives and analyze the ways in which the philosophical concept of personhood informs the depiction and perception of AI characters. It argues that the concept is an integral topic within the stories themselves, but also in terms of how audiences engage with AI characters. The thesis explores the narratological techniques used to elicit affective responses in audiences, and specifically how those techniques influence the perceived personhood of AI characters. The main focus is on the role of perspective, as well as on the ways in which audiences identify, sympathize, and empathize with AI characters.
