Comparison of seniors safety in acute and long-term care.

Abstract:

Nejvyšší počet zranění u lidí nad 65 let tvoří náhlé pády. Sestra ve zdravotnictví musí být připravena na mimořádnou událost jako je pád klienta. V teoretické části jsem se zaměřila na pády seniorů ve zdravotnických zařízeních, jejich důsledky a vyplívající povinnosti zdravotnického personálu. V praktické části se zabývám porovnáním dlouhodobé péče s akutní v rámci bezpečnosti klienta. Úkolem práce je porovnat rozdíly v prevenci pádů v akutní a dlouhodobé péči, zjistit počínání personálu po pádu seniora, zmapovat četnost používání pomůcek a určit problémy, se kterými se ošetřující personál potýká v prevenci pádů.

Abstract:

Highest number of injuries amongst men over 65 years make sudden falls. Nurse in health service has to be prepared for emergent event, such as client´s fall. In theoretical section, I focused on seniors falls in healthcare facilities, their consequences and ensuing duties of medical personnel. In practical section, I deal with comparison of long-term and emergent care within the scope of client´s safety. Objective of this work is to compare the differencies of falls prevention in emergent and long-term care, to discover behaviour of personnel after the senior´s fall, to survey the frequency of instrument usage and to determine problems, which treating personnel fight in falls prevention.
