The usage of placenta after childbirth

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím placenty po porodu. Shrnuje informace o její stavbě, vývoji, složení a funkcích, dále o zpracování, především do kapslí, koktejlu či tinktury a zabývá se i placentovými rituály v různých kulturách světa. Práce obsahuje i kapitolu popisující právní problematiku vydávání placent ze zdravotnických zařízení po porodu. V praktické části je popsáno dotazníkové šetření týkající se informovanosti žen ohledně využití placenty po porodu a benefitů a rizik placentofagie. Respondentkami byly ženy, které alespoň jedenkrát rodily v posledních patnácti letech. Kromě dotazníkového šetření jsou součástí práce i rozhovory s porodními asistentkami certifikovanými pro zpracovávání placenty. Tyto rozhovory zkoumají jejich zkušenosti, popisují zájem klientek a postup zpracování placenty do kapslí.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the use of the placenta after childbirth. It summarizes information about its construction, development, composition and functions, as well as processing, especially into capsules, cocktails or tinctures, and also deals with placenta rituals in various cultures of the world. The work also includes a chapter describing the legal issue of issuing placentas from health facilities after childbirth. The practical part describes a questionnaire survey regarding women's awareness of the use of the placenta after childbirth and the benefits and risks of placentophagy. The respondents were women who had given birth at least once in the last fifteen years. In addition to the questionnaire survey, the work also includes interviews with midwives certified for processing the placenta. These interviews explore their experiences, describe the interest of the clients and the process of processing the placenta into capsules.
