Target Volumes and Safety Margins of Radiosurgery and Radiotherapy

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se zabývám cílovými objemy a bezpečnostními lemy v radiochirurgii a radioterapii. Má práce je rozdělena do několika kapitol. První kapitola je věnována stručnému popisu průběhu plánování radioterapie. Od přijetí pacienta do onkologického centra až po konturaci nádorového ložiska a následnou vlastní léčbu radioterapií. V další kapitole jsem definovala pojem cílový objem a jeho rozdělení. Určení cílového objemu je základem všech radioterapeutických metod a jejich definice je jednotná pro všechna onkologická centra. V dalších kapitolách se zabývám vybranými verifikačními systémy. Verifikace zvyšuje přesnost, správnost a kvalitu radioterapie. V posledních kapitolách jsem se věnovala stereotaktickému ozařování, jeho výhodám oproti klasické radioterapii. V závěru mé bakalářské práce se zabývám praktickou částí, jejímž úkolem je srovnání dávkové distribuce v ozařovacím plánu pro konvenční radioterapii a pro stereotaktickou radioterapii.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on target volumes and safety margins of radiosurgery and radiotherapy. It is divided into several chapters. The first chapter gives you a brief description of the radiotherapy planning. It starts with consultation in cancer center, from tumor framing definition to a final radiotherapy treatment. In the next chapter, I defined the concept of target volume and its types. Determination of the target volume is the keystone of all radiotherapy techniques and their definition is the same for all cancer centers. In the following chapter I explain verification systems. Verification increases the accuracy, correctness and after all the very quality of radiotherapy. Last chapters describe stereotactic radiotherapy and its benefits over standard radiotherapy. The end of my thesis is the practical part. It is the comparison of dose distribution in radiotherapy plan for conventional radiotherapy and stereotactic radiotherapy.
