The Possibilities of Occupational Therapy for children with Down syndrome

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o možnostech ergoterapie u dětí s Downovým syndromem. Je rozdělena do dvou částí. V teoretické části seznamuje s problematikou choroby Downův syndrom. Popisuje hlavní projevy a přidružená onemocnění u Downova syndromu. Pojednává o využití ergoterapie, kterou vedeme u dětí s tímto syndromem, především formou hry. Dále je popsán multidisciplinární tým tj. tým specialistů, kteří společně participují na ucelené rehabilitaci. V praktické části je práce zaměřena na dvě kazuistiky dětí s Downovým syndromem. Na základě ergoterapeutického vyšetření jsou diagnostikovány problémové oblasti dětí a je navržen krátkodobý a dlouhodobý ergoterapeutický plán.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis discusses of possibilities of occupational therapy for children with Down´s syndrome. It is dividend into two parts. In theoretical part describe the main symptoms and associted diseases at Down syndrome. Discusses the use of occupational therapy which is provide children with this syndrom, especially through game. Further describe multidisciplinary team, that is the team of specialists which together participated for comprehesive rehabilitation. The practical part focuses on two case reports of children with Down syndrom. Based on occupational therapy examination are diagnosed childrens problematic areas and designed short-term and long-term occupational therapy plan.
