Home care, as a prevention against the institutionalization of seniors

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo charakterizovat a porovnat naplňování potřeb seniorů v přirozeném domácím prostředí. Práce vycházela především z teorie základních lidských potřeb od autora Manfreda Maxe-Neefa. V rámci teoretické části byla popsána elementární témata jako domácí péče, podpora zdraví a prevence u seniorů, institucionalizace a deinstitucionalizace. V návaznosti na teorii bylo uskutečněno výzkumné šetření, které se odehrávalo ve spolupráci s terénní odlehčovací službou a jeho cílem bylo porovnat naplňování potřeb u seniorů při poskytování terénní odlehčovací služby v domácím prostředí. Do výzkumného šetření byli zapojeni celkem tři klienti terénní odlehčovací služby. Jako metoda sběru dat byla využita obsahová analýza dokumentů a poté následovala komparace dat klientů. V závěru práce je poukázáno na možnosti prevence před institucionalizací seniorů pomocí naplňování jejich potřeb v domácím prostředí.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor´s thesis was to characterize and compare the fulfillment of the needs of seniors in a natural home environment. The work was mainly based on the theory of fundamental human needs by the author Manfred Max-Neef. Within the theoretical part, elementary topics such as home care, health support and prevention of seniors, institutionalization and deinstitutionalization were described. Based on the theory, a research study was carried out, which took place in cooperation with the field relief service, and its aim was to compare the fulfillment of the needs of seniors when providing the field relief service in the home environment. A total of three clients of the field relief service were involved in the research investigation. Content analysis of documents was used as a method of data collection, followed by a data comparison of clients. At the end of the thesis, the possibilities of prevention against the institutionalization of seniors through fulfilling their needs in the home environment, are pointed out.
