Sexual and intimate assistance for the disabled and the elderly people

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá sexualitou seniorů a osob s tělesným postižením, zaměřuje se na službu sexuální a intimní asistence pro tyto cílové skupiny. Cílem práce je přiblížení již existujících služeb sexuální a intimní asistence čtenářům a případně veřejnosti, zmapování informovanosti sociálních pracovníků v domovech pro seniory o této službě, názorů na téma sexuální asistence z pohledu samotných asistentek, které službu vykonávají a získání informací o sexuálních potřebách a jejich naplňování od samotných klientů žijících v ústavní péči či domácím prostředí. Práce je členěna na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se věnuje skupině tělesně postižených a skupině seniorů, specifikům těchto skupin a jejich problémům, dále tématu sexuální a intimní asistence. V  praktické části bude zmapována informovanost sociálních pracovníků o službě sexuální a intimní asistence, dále budou uskutečněny rozhovory s profesionálními sexuálními a intimními asistentkami. V další části práce budou prostřednictvím dotazníků získány informace od tělesně postižených a seniorů žijících v ústavech sociální péče o sexualitě, sexuálních potřebách a jejich naplňování. V závěru jsou shrnuty dosažené výsledky a zhodnocena potřeba této služby.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the sexuality of seniors and people with disabilities, focusing on sexual and intimate service assistance for these given groups. The aims are (i) to approach existing services of sexual and intimate assistance and map awareness and interest in this service from social workers in homes for the elderly, (ii) to prepare the preview on sexual assistance from the perspective of the assistants performing this service, and (iii) to obtain information about sexual needs and their fulfilment by the clients living in institutional care or home environment. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to a group of disabled and elderly group, describing the specifics of these groups and their problems, as well as the topic of sexual and intimate assistance. In the practical part the awareness of social workers about sexual and intimate service assistance will be mapped. Furthermore, the professional sexual and intimate assistants will be interviewed. In the next section information about sexuality, sexual needs and their fulfilment will be collected from the disabled and seniors living in social care institutions through questionnaires. The conclusion will summarize all the results and the evaluation of the need for this service will be done.
