M. S. Gorbachev, restructuring and glasnost from the view of the Czechoslovak press and dissent in 1985 - 1989

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá reakcemi stranického tisku a disentu na změny v Sovětském svazu spojené s nástupem M. Gorbačova na post generálního tajemníka ÚV KSSS v březnu 1985 až do revoluce v listopadu 1989. Budu srovnávat tři periodika, ústřední tiskový orgán KSČ Rudé právo a dva exilové časopisy Svědectví a Listy. Cílem této práce je porovnat, jak se vybíraly a hodnotily informace o probíhající přestavbě v Sovětském svazu a její odezva v Československu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the reactions of the communist press and dissent to the changes in the Soviet Union associated with the arrival of Gorbachev to the post of general secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU in March 1985 until the Velvet Revolution in November 1989. I will compare the three periodicals, central press body Rudé právo and two exile magazines Svědectví and Listy. The aim of this thesis is to compare how the Czechoslovak press and dissent selected and interpreted information about the restructuring in the Soviet Union and in Czechoslovakia.
