Vznik allopolyploidních druhů je často doprovázen jak genetickými, tak i epigenetickými změnami. Podstata epigenetických změn není zcela jasná, proto je vhodné studovat dědičnost a funkci epigenetických regulátorů. DNA-(cytosin-5)-methyltransferázy patří mezi hlavní epigenetické regulátory podílející se na vzniku a udržení methylovaných cytosinů v DNA. The emergence of allopolyploidy species is often accompanied by genetic and epigenetic changes. The essence of epigenetic changes is not entirely clear, it is therefore appropriate to study the inheritance and function of epigenetic regulators.
