Security of railway crossings in the selected region

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá zabezpečením železničních přejezdů v jednom z krajů České republiky, konkrétně v kraji Plzeňském. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol, přičemž první kapitola se věnuje Plzeňskému kraji jako takovému (historie, průmysl, nezaměstnanost, atp.). Ve druhé kapitole se řeší doprava (silniční, železniční) v rámci kraje a také porovnání výhodnosti jednotlivých dopravních prostředků (automobil, autobus, vlak) na příkladu trasy Plzeň -- Železná Ruda jak z hlediska ekonomického, tak z hlediska časového. Ve třetí kapitole práce se zkoumá podíl zabezpečení železničních přejezdů a křižovatek s dopravou v rámci kraje, mimo jiné je zde uvedena i nehodovost u silniční a železniční dopravy a také schéma a popis automatického zabezpečení železničního přejezdu. Čtvrtá kapitola zhodnocuje ekonomický přínos využívání automatických systémů zabezpečení železničních přejezdů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the security of the level crossings in one of the regions of the Czech Republic, namely the Plzeň Region. The thesis is divided into four chapters, first chapter concerning the Plzeň Region as such (history, industry, unemployment, etc.). The main topic of chapter two is transport (road, rail) within the Plzeň Region and also the comparison of advantages of different means of transport (car, bus, train) on example of the route Plzeň -- Železná Ruda both economically and in terms of time. The third chapter focuses on the participation of the security of the level crossings and intersections in transport within the region, including the road and railway accident rates as well as a diagram and a description of an automatic level crossing protection system. In the fourth chapter the economic benefits of using the automatic level crossing protection systems are evaluated.
