Matters of the Burnout Syndrome of People in Helping Proffessions Working in Selected Homes for the Elderly in Ústecký Region.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice syndromu vyhoření u pracovníků v pomáhajících profesích ve vybraných domovech pro seniory na Ústecku. Cílem práce je identifikace míry syndromu vyhoření u těchto pracovníků a návrh preventivních opatření vedoucích k eliminaci s tím souvisejících rizik. Práce se zabývá rizikovými faktory ovlivňujícími vznik syndromu vyhoření. Věnuje se také příznakům tohoto jevu, rozvádí jeho jednotlivé fáze a možné způsoby prevence, a to jak z pozice pracovníka, tak z pozice zaměstnavatele. Součástí práce je i charakteristika pracovníků v pomáhajících profesích v domovech pro seniory a popis specifik práce související s péčí o seniory ve vztahu k syndromu vyhoření. Výzkumné šetření bylo provedeno pomocí standardizovaného dotazníku MBI. Celkové výsledky míry vyhoření je možné označit za mírně znepokojivé, jelikož v žádném ze tří faktorů sice nedosahují kritických hodnot, ale pohybují se v hodnotách mírného vyhoření. Závěrem jsou z výsledků výzkumného šetření identifikována nejzávažnější rizika v jednotlivých domovech pro seniory, na jejichž základě jsou navržena konkrétní doporučení týkající se preventivních opatření.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the problem of burnout of social workers who help residents of specific homes of elderly in Ústecký region. Target of the thesis is to measure the extent of the burnout in the cases of the mentioned social workers and to suggest particular ways in which the burnout could be prevented along with the dangers that are associated with it. These dangers that mainly influence the appearance of the burnout are described in the thesis too. Its concern are also the symptoms of the burnout phenomena and its specific phases along with possible ways of prevention from the position of a social worker as well as an employer. Another thing that is included in the thesis is a characterisation of the social workers engaged in the homes of elderly and description of their work there in relation to burnout syndrome. The research that was executed for this thesis was carried out in the form of standardised questionnaire MBI. The final results of this study can be considered alarming because they have shown slight burnout in all the three factors, even though that none of them has proven to be critical in the measurement of the burnout's extent. The conclusion includes identification of the most serious dangers typical for employees in particular homes of elderly and according to that specific suggestions about burnout prevention.
