Financial Costs of Alzheimer Disease

Abstract:

Alzheimerova choroba je nejčastější formou demence. Počty nemocných se neustále zvyšují a s tím i peněžní prostředky vynaložené na péči. Předmětem bakalářské práce s názvem „Finanční náročnost Alzheimerovy choroby“ je identifikovat a vyhodnotit finanční náročnost nemoci pro všechny dotčené subjekty. Nejprve je popsána samotná choroba, vymezeny jednotlivé druhy možné péče a shrnuty dosavadní poznatky o její finanční nákladnosti. V druhé části jsou zjišťována specifika péče v českých podmínkách u konkrétních subjektů, kterými jsou psychiatrické nemocnice, domovy se zvláštním režimem a rodina. Závěrem práce je vyčíslení finančních nákladů respondentů, nalezení problémových oblastí, kterými jsou: nedostačující kapacity pobytových i odlehčovacích zařízení, slabá spolupráce mezi poskytovateli péče a jejich nízká informovanost o dotačních řízeních.

Abstract:

Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia. The numbers of patients are constantly increasing as well as the money spent on care. The aim of the bachelor thesis titled "The Financial Costs of Alzheimer's Disease" is to identify and evaluate the financial burden of the disease for all concerned. In the first part of the thesis, the disease is described, the different types of possible care are identified and the extant knowledge of its financial cost is summarized. The second part of the thesis analyses the specifics of care for selected care givers in the Czech Republic, which are psychiatric hospital, home for the elderly and family. In conclusion, there are quantified costs of respondents. There are also found problematic areas such as: insufficient capacity of institutional caregivers, their cooperation and low awareness of subsidy proceedings.
