Electronic music and indie games - Renaissance of videogames?

Abstract:

Electronic music and indie games – Renaissance of videogames? Electronic music and video games are a new expression of human creativity that brought the 20th century . These areas of electronic character , we can find in varied forms with specific features. However, it can also be found as a link , when the makers of video games incorporated in playing the first tune. End of the '70s brought a sound background with a primitive sound, and in the next decade this innovation has also developed into music . This was made up of tools and procedures that have been known in the environment of electronic music . Gradually this connection has been transformed and lay apart , when the orchestra was joined into the sound background . Our examination , but introduced us to a game scene , which retains the original connection with electronic music . It is the independent scene that indie games often contain audio background formed under electronic music . Therefore, we will characterize , provide examples of these games and their authors . We will consider them for the process of creation , tools , whence had inspiration while trying to analyse and compare with a game of big developer studio . We will put also questions about freedom of creation and if we can find meaning in this re- connection .

Abstract:

Elektronická hudba a indie games – Renesancia videohier? Elektronická hudba a videohry sú novým vyjadrením ľudskej tvorivej činnosti , ktoré prinieslo 20.storočie. Prevedenie týchto oblastí elektronického charakteru, nájdeme v v pestrých formách so špecifickými znakmi. Avšak môžeme ich nájsť aj ako spojenie, a to keď tvorcovia videohier zakomponovali do hrania prvú melódiu. Koniec 70. rokov priniesol zvukové pozadie s jednoduchými zvukmi, aby sa v ďalšom desaťročí táto inovácia rozvinula aj do hudby. Tá bola tvorená s nástrojmi a postupmi, ktoré boli známe z prostredia elektronickej hudby. Postupne sa toto spojenie premieňalo a rozchádzalo, keď nastupoval do zvukového pozadia orchester. Naše skúmanie nás ale zavedie k hernej scéne, ktorá si zachováva pôvodné spojenie s elektronickou hudbou. Je ňou nezávislá scéna, ktorej indie games obsahujú často zvukové pozadie tvorené v zmysle elektronickej hudby. Preto si ju charakterizujeme, uvedieme príklady týchto hier a ich autorov. Priblížime si na nich proces tvorenia, nástroje, odkiaľ čerpali inšpirácie a zároveň sa pokúsime o analýzu i porovnanie s hrou veľkých vývojárskych štúdií. Položíme si tiež otázky o voľnosti tvorby a či nachádzame význam v tomto opätovnom spojení.
