The application of AMM technolegy in effective supply sales process management in an energy utility

Abstract:

Předmětem této diplomové práce je vyhodnocení analýz pro využití nové technologie AMM v rámci energetického podniku a doporučení, jakým způsobem využít tuto novou technologii pro konečné zákazníky, odběratele energetických médií. V teoretické části je nejprve popsána legislativa, která určuje termín a rozsah implementace nové technologie v energetickém odvětví. Dále je popsán současný stav využití technologie v rámci České republiky a nakonec je uveden postup pro zavedení nového zákaznického produktu, který by mohl být využit pro úspěšné uvedení této nové technologie prostřednictvím nové služby pro zákazníky energetické společnosti. Potenciál přínosů z aplikace technologie AMM nejen pro energetiku ale pro celou společnost je značný. Praktické uvedení do provozu však představuje pro jejich budoucí provozovatele značnou finanční zátěž v investičních i provozních nákladech. Z tohoto pohledu je pro masivní uvedení technologie do rutinního provozu životně důležitá vedle legislativní podpory i podpora zákaznické veřejnosti, která by se měla významně podílet na krytí nákladů. To je však možné jen v situaci, kdy bude veřejnost k takovému chování dostatečně dobře motivovaná. V praktické části je uveden přehled všech využitelných funkcí technologie AMM, které jsou setříděny v rámci obecné organizační struktury energetického podniku, včetně doporučení jejich využití. V poslední kapitole jsou popsány možnosti motivace konečných zákazníků k akceptaci technologie AMM s uvedením rizik.

Abstract:

The topic of this diploma thesis is the evaluation of analyses for the application of the new AMM technology within a power company, and recommendations on the methods of utilisation of this new technology for end customers, the energy media clients. The theoretical part initially describes the legislation which defines the term and scope of the new technology implementation within the energy sector. Thereafter a description of the current situation of application of the technology in the Czech Republic follows, and finally the procedure of introducing a new customer product which could be used for the successful launch of this new technology via a new service provided by a power company is discussed. The potential of benefits arising from the application of the AMM technology not only for the power sector but also for the entire society is significant. Practical operational implementation, however, represents a major financial burden in terms of investment as well as operating costs for future operators. With a view to this aspect, not only legislative support, but also the support from customers who should significantly participate in the coverage of costs, are vital for the massive launch of routine operation of the technology. Nevertheless, this is practicable only in a situation when the customers are given sufficient incentives therefore. The practical part of the thesis provides an overview of all applicable functions of the AMM technology which are classified with a view to the general organisational structure of a power company, including recommendations on their utilisation. The last chapter describes possible incentives for the acceptation of the AMM technology by end customers, listing also the risks thereof.
