Abstract:
The present diploma thesis investigates linguistic and non-linguistic persuasive devices and strategies used in the discourse of contemporary magazine advertising. The corpus consists of 60 advertisements for foodstuffs and non-alcoholic beverages published in British magazines during the year 2007.
