Swiss Confederation, European Union: Federal Features of Political Systems

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce „Švýcarská konfederace, Evropská unie: federalistické prvky politických systémů“ si klade za cíl vymezit federalistické rysy Švýcarské konfederace, tedy subjektu, který je téměř ideálním příkladem federativního uspořádání, a provést analýzu Evropské unie jako útvaru, jehož federalistická povaha je naopak obtížněji uchopitelná. Práce se zabývá teoretickým vymezením federalismu, jeho vlivem na evropský integrační proces, především však federalistickými rysy, které analogicky se Švýcarskou konfederací vykazuje současná struktura Evropské unie.

Abstract:

The presented thesis „Swiss Confederation, European Union: the Federalistic Features of the Political Systems“ aims to define the federalistic features of the Swiss Confederation, which is almost an ideal example of federative form and to carry out an analysis of the European Union as an system with less concrete federal character vice versa. The thesis deals with the theoretical definition of federalism, with its impact on the european integration process, primarily with the federalistic features, which simultaneously with the Swiss confederation embodies the current structure of the European Union.
