The Occurrence of Microorganisms in Boar Semen and the Prevention of Their Growth by Natural Extracts

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na mikroorganismy vyskytující se ve spermatu chovných kanců a zamezení jejich růstu pomocí přírodních extraktů. Nejdříve se zabývám kontaminací a výskytem mikroorganismů ve spermatu. Dále je v práci popsáno, jak se sperma odebírá, skladuje a jakými plnidly se sperma ředí a uchovává. V další části jsou shrnuty přírodní extrakty, které byly využity k inhibici mikroorganismů a k testování jejich toxicity na spermie. Mimo to je dále v praktické části zhodnocena i citlivost vybraných bakterií izolovaných z kančího spermatu na antibiotika.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on microorganisms living in sperm of breeding boars and hindering their growth by the use of natural extracts. In the first part I focus on contamination and presence of microorganisms in the sperm. The second part of the thesis describes the process of sperm extraction, storage and types of extenders used for dilution and storage. The next part summarises natural extracts which were used to inhibit the microorganisms and for testing of their toxicity to sperms. Furthermore, the practical part of the thesis evaluates the sensitivity of selected bacteria extracted from boar sperm to antibiotics.
