Braun's Bethlehem

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá významnou barokní památkou zvanou Braunův Betlém. Shrnuje poznatky, problémy a návrhy řešení špatného stavu díla a mapuje související dění. Soubor sochařských děl, který je od roku 1999 na Seznamu sta nejohroženějších památek světa, dlouhodobě chátrá. Bylo již navrženo mnoho postupů záchrany, zapojují se nejen odborníci, studenti, ale i občanská sdružení a další spolky a aktivisté i ze zahraničí. Vyřešení situace, ve které se areál nachází a s tím související další soustavná péče, vybudování zázemí a zatraktivnění místa pro turisty, by bylo finančně náročné a prostředky se přes veškeré snahy stále nedaří získat. S tím, že není možné podniknout radikální záchranný krok, ale bohužel mizí i snaha o základní údržbu soch a areálu. Mým cílem je nastínit dění od roku 1998 do roku 2011, které ještě nebylo komplexně zpracované a také se pokusit najít takové kroky, které se v minulosti jevily být funkční a aspoň pozastavily další chátrání skulptur.

Abstract:

This paper is focused on a significant baroque sight called the Braun's Bethlehem. It sums up the findings, problems and possible solutions to the bad condition of the sight and also maps the connected events . The set of sculptular works, which has been on the list of the 100 Most Endangered Sights of the World since 1999, is decaying in the long-term. There have been many suggestions regarding the possible rescue, involving not only proffesionals, but also students, non-governmental organisations, foreign activists and other unions. Solving the problems, the area is currently undergoing, systematic maintanance, building the facillities and also making the place more appealing for tourists, would be financially demanding and the funds are despite all the efforts nowhere to be found. Knowing that it is impossible to make a fundamental rescue attempt, the efforts for basic upkeep of sculptures are also vanishing. My goal is to outline the events that happpened since 1998 till 2011and have not been summed up yet and also to try and find the ways from the past, that were functional and atleast stopped the decay of the sculptures.
