Orthoptic care in patient after congenital cataract surgery

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje ortoptické péči, kterou je možné poskytnout dětským pacientům po chirurgickém odstranění vrozené katarakty. První kapitola popisuje vývoj očního orgánu a anatomii dětské oční čočky. Následující kapitola objasňuje problematiku samotné katarakty vyskytnuvší se v dospělém a dětském věku. Třetí kapitola vysvětluje riziko amblyopie související se vznikem katarakty během kritické periody. Možnosti konzervativní, chirurgické a pooperační terapie jsou probírány v kapitole čtvrté. Poslední kapitola pojednává o ortoptickém vyšetření dítěte po operaci kongenitální katarakty a navazující pleopticko-ortoptickém cvičení.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of the orthoptical care that could be given to the children patients after a surgical removal of the congenital cataract. First chapter describes the development of a visual organ and the anatomy of a children’s eye lens. Following chapter clarifies the matter of a cataract appearing during the adulthood and childhood respectively. Third chapter explains the risk of amblyopia related to the development of the cataract during the critical period. Options for the conservative, surgical and postoperative therapy are discussed in the fourth chapter. Last chapter addresses the orthoptical examination of a child after the surgical removal of the congenital cataract and following pleoptical-orthoptical exercises.
