Subjective experience of pregnancy and childbirth from the maternal perspective

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o subjektivním prožívání těhotenství a porodu rodičkami. Cíl: Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit u rodiček rozdílné prožívání těhotenství, samotného porodu a časného poporodního období., zachytit a analyzovat prožitou zkušenost s těhotenství a porodem. Metodika: Ve výzkumném šetření byla použita metoda kvalitativního výzkumu. Kvalitativní výzkum byl vybrán záměrně z důvodu spolupráce s menším souborem respondentek. Výzkum vycházel z kvalitativní analýzy a interpretace získaných informací, na základě kterých je možno lépe se vcítit do pocitů žen v průběhu těhotenství a porodu a tím zvolit nejvhodnější přístup k rodičce, navázat s ní lepší spolupráci a komunikaci v průběhu ošetřovatelské péče. Metodou sběru dat byla použita forma individuálního rozhovoru. Výsledky: Na základě analýzy dat byly stanoveny kategorie a podkategorie. V první řadě jsem se zabývala reakcí žen, při zjištění, že jsou těhotné. Výzkum ukázal, že ženy prožívají velmi ambivalentní pocity a to i v případě, kdy jde o plánovanou graviditu. Dále jsem se ve výzkumu zabývala životosprávou těhotných v jednotlivých trimestrech, konkrétně stravou, fyzickou aktivitou a sexuálním životem. Bylo zjištěno, že životospráva v těhotenství přímo souvisí s fyzickým a psychickým rozpoložením těhotné. Následně jsem se zaměřila na prožívání porodu a bezprostřední době po porodu. Z výzkumu vyplynulo, že bez rozdílu na paritě, vždy jde pro ženu o nový, jedinečný a nezapomenutelný zážitek, který každá prožívá vlastním způsobem s ohledem na různé okolní faktory, např. kultura, podpora partnera, psychické rozpoložení rodičky aj. Závěr: Těhotenství a porod je významným období v životě ženy. Je to období, kdy se žena stává matkou a vše se najednou mění, jak po tělesné, tak po psychické stránce. Z ženy se najednou stává matka a i v případě, že jde o vícerodičku, vždy toto období s sebou přináší něco nového. Tyto změny každá žena prožívá velmi odlišným způsobem v závislosti na své osobnosti, prostředí a dalším okolnostem jako je například výskyt komplikací aj. Každá žena, těhotenství a porod je jedinečné a proto je důležité k rodičce přistupovat velmi individuálně.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is about subjective experience with pregnancy and childbirth from the maternal perspective This Bachelor Thesis concerns with about the subjective experience of pregnancy and childbirth from the point of view of women in labour. Main Objective: The main aim of this Bachelor Thesis was to analyze differences inexperiencing pregnancy by women in labour, child birth as well as very early postnatal period. The analysis was also aimed at experiences with pregnancy and child birth itself. Methodology: The research survey method was applied during qualitative research. Qualitative research has been chosen on purpose due to the collaboration with a smaller group of respondents. The research itself was based on the qualitative analysis and the interpretation of information obtained, on which basis it was possible to empathize with the women in labour. According to this, it was better to apply the most appropriate approach to the expectant mother as well as to establish better cooperation and communication with herduring nursing care. Data collection method was applied in the form of an individualinterview. Results: On the grounds of the data analysis were determined different categories and sub-categories. Research showed, that women experience very ambivalent feelings, even if the pragnency is planned. Further I was focused on lifestyle of pregnant women in each single trimester, specifically on diet, physical activity and sexual life. It has been found, that the diet during pregnancy is directly based on physical and mental state of pregnant woman. Subsequently, I focused on the experience of childbirth and the immediate postpartum period. The research showed that, no matter how many chilbirth woman gave, every childbirth is always new, unique and memorable experience, that everybody feels in their own way, with regard on various factors, for example culture, support of a partner, psychice state of mother etc. Conclusion: Pregnancy and child birth is very important life time period in the life of a woman. It is a period, when a woman becomes mother and everything around her changes; i.e. both physically and mentally. It is a transition process from a woman to a mother even though it is not the first child birth; it always brings some new experience. These changes are experienced in very different way by each pregnant woman. It depends on her personality, environment she lives in and other circumstances such as the occurrence of complications during pregnancy and many others. Every woman as well as pregnancy itself and child birth are unique thou the individual approach is very important.
