Spanish economic miracle in the years of 1959-1973 and it´s economical and political causes

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na období španělského hospodářského zázraku, který probíhal v letech 1959-1973. Hlavním cílem této práce je analýza nejdůlěžitějších příčin této hospodářské expanze. Verifikujií se zde hypotézy, že industrializace, která vedla k rozšíření průmyslového sektoru na úkor sektoru agrárního, byla jednou z příčin hospodářského růstu země, dále pak že veliký rozmach terciálního sektoru, zejména turistického sektoru působil pozitivně na nejdůležitější makroekonomické ukazatele, jako hrubý domácí produkt nebo zaměstnanost. Poslední verifikovaná teze tvrdí, že růst objemu zahraničních investic měl rovněž výrazně pozitivní vliv na hospodářský růst. Teoretická část práce definuje hlavní rysy frankistického režimu ve Španělsku a popisuje hospodářsko-politický vývoj předcházející sledovanému období. Praktická část analyzuje hospodářsko-politický vývoj, dále pak agrární, industriální a terciální sektor ve sledovaném období. V závěru praktická část práce komparuje jednotlivé sektory španělské ekonomiky. Práce jednoznačně potvrzuje výše uvedené hypotézy, španělská hospodářská expanze byla stimulována především rozmachem terciálního a industriálního sektoru za pomoci zahraničních investic.

Abstract:

This Bachelor´s dissertation is focused on the period of spanish economic miracle of 1959-1973. The main purpose is to analyze the most important causations of this economic expansion. In this work there are verified thesis that industrialization which lead to upswing of industrial sector at the expense of agrarian sector was one of the sources of economic expansion of the country. Another thesis verified is that the upwising of the tercial sector – touristic sector particulary – made a positive impact on the most important macroeconomic agregates such as Gross Domestic Product or employment. The last verified thesis claims that the growth of ammount of foreign investments made a positive impact on this economic expansion. Theoretical part of this dissertation defines the main features of francistic regime in Spain and describes economical and political development before the analyzed period. Practical part of dissertation analyzes economical and political develpoment and agricultural, industrial and tercial sector of the economy in the period of spanish economic miracle. At the end of this part there is a comparation of these sectors and their impacts. This dissertation clearly confirms all of the above written thesis. The spanish economic expansion was stimulated particulary by the upswing of tercial and industrial sector as well as by the growth of ammount of foreign investments in the country.
