Vision as a necessary foundation for creating a business strategy

Abstract:

Účelem diplomové práce je objasnění role vizí ve strategickém řízení podniků. Výzkum ověřuje hypotézy, odvozené z teoretických poznatků, o důležitosti jasně definovaných vizí, jejich následné implementace do strategií a vzniklé synergii. Metodologie práce využívá kolektivní případovou studii jako výzkumného designu, který umožňuje detailní zkoumání procesu transformace vize do strategických rozhodnutí několika společností. Studie zkoumá, jak zvolené firmy formulují svou vizi, jak se tato vize odráží ve strategických cílech a jak globální ekonomické změny ovlivňují vztah mezi vizí a strategií firmy. Zjištění nabízejí přínos do praxe, zejména v kontextu formování a implementace vize. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je zjištěné poznatky z teorie a výzkumu použít pro návrh konkrétních postupů a procesů při tvorbě vize a strategie společnosti Česká pošta. Práce identifikuje přístupy a nástroje, které mohou být uplatněny v procesu strategického rozhodování, což může sloužit jako užitečný průvodce pro manažery a podnikatele, kteří usilují o lepší pochopení významu vize pro konkurenceschopnost a udržitelnost podnikání.

Abstract:

The purpose of the Diploma thesis is to clarify the role of visions in strategic management of companies. The research tests hypotheses, derived from theoretical knowledge, about the importance of clearly defined visions, their subsequent implementation in strategies and the resulting synergy. The methodology of the thesis uses a collective case study as a research design that allows for a detailed examination of the process of transforming vision into strategic decisions in selected companies. The thesis examines how the selected companies articulate their vision, how this vision is reflected in strategic objectives, and how global economic changes affect the relationship between vision and corporate strategy. The findings offer contributions to practice, particularly in the context of vision formation and implementation. The main objective of the thesis is to use the findings from theory and research to design specific procedures and processes in the development of the vision and strategy of the Česká pošta. The thesis identifies approaches and tools that can be applied in the strategic decision-making process, which can serve as a useful guide for managers and entrepreneurs seeking to better understand the importance of vision for business competitiveness and sustainability.
