The difficulties of delayed rehabilitation intervention in an adult patient with osteoarthritis of the knee: clinical case.

Abstract:

Osteoarthrosis is a chronic disease determined by a progressive alteration of articular cartilage that, over time, eventually leads to complete destruction. The pathology is determined by various pathophysiological and etiological mechanisms, furthermore, the clinical manifestation itself is also very heterogeneous. It is the rheumatic disease with the highest incidence in modern society and has a strong impact on the quality of life of the affected population. In fact, typically the patient with osteoarthritis complains of stiffness, deep and insidious pain when the load on the affected joint increases or when repetitive activities and exercises that result in local stress are performed.

Abstract:

L'osteoartrosi ? una patologia cronica determinata da una progressiva alterazione della cartilagine articolare che, col tempo, finisce per giungere alla completa distruzione. La patologia ? determinata da vari meccanismi fisiopatologici ed eziologici, inoltre anche la stessa manifestazione clinica risulta essere molto eterogenea. Si tratta della patologia reumatica con l'incidenza pi? alta nella societ? moderna e ha un forte impatto sulla qualit? di vita della popolazione che ne ? affetta. Infatti, tipicamente il paziente con osteoartrosi lamenta rigidit?, dolore profondo e insidioso quando aumenta il carico sull'articolazione affetta o quando vengono svolte attivit? ripetitive ed esercizi che determinano sollecitazione locale.
