Cílem práce je porovnání ženských postav z vybraných amerických sitcomů se známým stereotypem černošské chůvy – the mammy. Teoretických základem je zmapování vývoje tohoto stereotypu v průběhu století a vysledování vývoje černošských sitcomů. The aim of this thesis is to compare the female characters from selected US sitcoms with the well-known Black stereotype – the mammy. The development of the stereotype throughout the history is traced, as well as the development of Black sitcoms on television.
