The Development of a Mobile Application for Dog Owners

Abstract:

V zahraničí již existují mobilní aplikace, které podporují péči o zdraví psa či evidování různých údajů. Umožňují například ukládat si informace o váze psa v čase, o návštěvách veterináře, údaje o proběhlé medikaci či vakcinaci. Zobrazují upozornění, že je potřeba dát psovi medikaci a podobně. Ale dle rešerše autora neexistuje žádná podobná česká aplikace. Hlavním cílem této práce je navrhnout a implementovat mobilní aplikaci pro české majitelé psů, která se zaměřuje zejména na evidenční funkcionality. Mobilní aplikace má potenciál pomoct majitelům psů. Může zlepšit a lépe organizovat péči o jejich psy. Dílčím cílem této práce je provést výběr vhodné technologie pro implementaci aplikace. Dalším dílčím cílem této práce je provést uživatelské testování výsledné mobilní aplikace a případné změny v rámci možností zapracovat do mobilní aplikace. Výběr vhodné technologie je proveden dle popularity a výkonu. Pro dosažení hlavního cíle práce je částečně využita metodika MMSP. Jedná se o metodiku určenou pro vývoj menších softwarových projektů. V této práci jsou požadavky sbírány analýzou stávajících mobilních aplikací a následně jsou ověřeny pomocí dotazníku ve skupinách majitelů psů na sociální síti. Pro ověření výsledné aplikace je využito uživatelského testování. Výsledkem této práce je funkční cross-platformní mobilní aplikace, která je určená pro běžné české majitele psů a měla by jim pomoci zejména s evidencí údajů o jejich psovi.

Abstract:

There are already mobile applications abroad that support dog health care or recording various data. For example, they allow you to store information about the dog's weight over time, about veterinarian visits, information about medication or vaccination. They can display notification that the dog needs to be given medication etc. But according to the author's research, there is no similar application in Czech language. The main goal of this thesis is to design and implement a mobile application for Czech dog owners, which focuses mainly on data recording functionalities. The mobile application has potential to help dog owners. It can improve and better organize the care of their dogs. Another goal of this thesis is to select suitable technology for the implementation of the application. The next goal of this work is to perform user testing of the resulting mobile application and to incorporate changes within the possibilities into the mobile application. The selection of a suitable technology is made according to a popularity and performance. To achieve the main goal of this thesis the MMSP methodology is partially used. It is a methodology designed for the development of small software projects. In this work, the requirements are collected by analysis of existing mobile applications and then verified using a questionnaire in groups of dog owners on the social network. User testing is used to verify the resulting application. The result of this work is a functional cross-platform mobile application, which is designed for ordinary Czech dog owners and should help them especially with the recording of data about their dog.
