Mortality and air quality, focusing in the Ústí Region

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá posouzením kvality ovzduší a jejím možným dopadem na úmrtnost obyvatel Ústeckého kraje v porovnání s ostatními kraji České republiky. Teoretická část se věnuje charakteristice základních znečišťujících látek ovzduší a jejich možnému zdravotnímu dopadu. Praktická část analyzuje emisní a imisní situaci v letech 2000-2014 v Ústeckém kraji v porovnání s ostatními kraji České republiky s cílem posoudit možný vztah k úmrtnosti v Ústeckém kraji. Dále prozkoumává subjektivní vztah obyvatel Ústeckého kraje ke kvalitě ovzduší. Na základě získaných výsledků ze statistických dat a následného výpočtu odhadu vlivu znečištění ovzduší na aditivní úmrtnost doplněné subjektivním dotazníkovým šetřením jsme došli k závěru, že kvalita ovzduší se zcela jistě podílí na celkové úmrtnosti. V tomto ohledu byl cíl bakalářské práce naplněn.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of air quality and its possible impact on the mortality of the inhabitants of Ústí nad Labem region compared to other regions of the Czech Republic. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of the basic air pollutants and their potential health impacts. The practical part analyzes the emission and immission situation in 2000-2014 in the Ústí nad Labem region compared to other regions of the Czech Republic in order to assess the possible relationship to mortality in the Ústí nad Labem region. It further examines the subjective relation of the inhabitants of Ústí nad Labem to the quality of the air. Based on the results obtained from the statistical data and the subsequent calculation of the air pollution impact assessment on additive mortality supplemented by the subjective questionnaire survey, we concluded that air quality certainly contributes to overall mortality. In this regard, the aim of a bachelor thesis was fulfilled.
