Traineeship programme at Unilever

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá Trainee programy jako hlavním nástrojem talent managementu, který se orientuje na mladé, vzdělané a talentované jedince. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Teoretická část se věnuje vysvětlení teoretických východisek souvisejících s touto oblastí. Tato část je zpracována na základě odborné literatury. Praktická část se zabývá analýzou Trainee programu v konkrétní společnosti, ve společnosti Unilever. V úvodu praktické části je společnost nejprve představena a následně je analyzován její Trainee program a jednotlivé personální činnosti s ním spojené. Podkladem pro vytvoření praktické části jsou poskytnuté interní materiály, internetové stránky společnosti a především rozhovory s HR Talent specialistkou, manažery společnosti a provedené dotazníkové šetření mezi účastníky programu. Cílem diplomové práce je prostřednictvím zvolených metod analyzovat dosavadní fungování Trainee programu ve Společnosti Unilever. Následně pak na základě získaných poznatků potvrdit nebo vyvrátit stanové hypotézy, identifikovat silné a slabé stránky programu a navrhnout případná doporučení, která by mohla vést ke zlepšení stávající situace.

Abstract:

The Diploma thesis elaborates on the Traineeship programme serving as a main tool of talent management, which is focused on young, educated and talented individuals. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part explains the theoretical basis covering the area of talent management. Data are predominantly based on the academic literature. The practical part deals with the analysis of Traineeship programme in a selected company, Unilever. A first part of the practical part is dedicated to a brief introduction of the Traineeship programme operated at Unilever followed by the analysis of associated activities within the programme. In this section, information is gathered from provided materials, websites of the company and primary data that were collected from in-depth interviews with a HR Talent specialist and managers accompanied with a questionnaire distributed among participants of the programme. The main aim of this thesis is to evaluate the current state of a Traineeship programme at Unilever through a combination of research methods. Based on the findings I was able to conclude the stated hypothesis, and identify strengths and weaknesses in order to suggest recommendations that may lead to positive improvements within the company.
