Linka Procházková: Paintings 1929-1937

Abstract:

Bakalářská diplomová práce si klade za cíl vytvořit profil výtvarnice Linky Procházkové, jíž nebyl z hlediska uměleckohistorické kritiky věnován doposud dostatečný prostor. Rané dílo Procházkové je v sepětí s uměleckou skupinou Osma, s níž malířka poprvé v roce 1908 vystavovala. Práce se přitom zaměřuje především na malířčinu tvorbu z let 1929–1937, která se jeví jako klíčová pro pochopení uměleckého a tvůrčího založení Linky Procházkové. Obrazy žen, dívek při tanci, matek s dětmi a hrajících si dětí z 30. let představují osobitou podobu neoklasicismu v domácím umění. Východiska na cestě k tvorbě z 30. let přitom předznamenává již portrétní a autoportrétní tvorba z raného období.

Abstract:

This thesis aims to draw a profile of Linka Procházková, a painter. Procházková's early work is connected with the artistic generation of The Eight, with whom she first exhibited in 1908. The main focus of the thesis is, however, on her works between the years 1929 and 1937. I consider this period key for the comprehension of the artistic personality of Linka Procházková. Her paintings of women, dancing girls, mothers and children and children playing games represent the genuine form of Czech Neoclassicism. Her portraits and self-portraits from the early period have set the foundation for her work in the 1930's.
