Ageism-The Attitude of Danish Students towards the Elderly and Their Sexual Life

Anotácia:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na téma stárnutí. Obsahuje část teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části popisuje, co je ageismus a jaký vliv může mít na seniory. Praktická část prezentuje výsledky výzkumu, který jsem provedla se studenty připravujících se na práci pedagogů z University College Lilebælt v dánském městě Odense. V rámci výzkumu jsem použila techniky sémantického diferenciálu a dotazník. Hlavním téma se zabývá předsudky vůči starým lidem a jejich sexuálnímu životu. Hlavním cílem je zmapovat situaci u studentů, kteří se budou pohybovat mezi lidmi, s různými sociálními potřebami včetně starých lidí, a popsat jejich postoj k tématu ageismu a sexuality starších osob. Tato studie je důležité poskytnout informace aktuálním tématu ageismus ve smyslu pohledu na a komunikaci se staršími lidmi.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of aging. It includes a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part describes what ageism is and how it may affect the elderly. The practical part presents results of research that I conducted with students preparing for job of pedagogues at the University College Lilebælt in the Danish city of Odense. Within the research I used the technique of semantic differential and a questionnaire. The main topic deals with the prejudice against old people and their sexual life. The main goal is to map the situation within students who will mingle about people with different social needs including old people and to describe their attitude to the topic of ageism and sexuality of the elderly. This study is important to provide information about the actual topic of ageism in the meaning of looking at and communicating with elders.
