The main objective of this thesis was to discuss in detail three films directed by three Canadian women filmmakers – I’ve Heard the Mermaids Singing (1987) by Patricia Rozema, Kissed (1996) by Lynne Stopkewich and Better Than Chocolate (1999) by Anne Wheeler.
