The role of the CXCL1 protein in cancer progression

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se věnuji úloze chemokinu CXCL1 v nádorové progresi. Jeho exprese je spojena se špatnou prognózou u mnoha typů nádorových onemocnění, včetně nádoru žaludku, slinivky, prsu a tlustého střeva. V rámci nádorové progrese se protein CXCL1 podílí na regulaci buněčné proliferace, angiogeneze nebo metastazování nádorových buněk. Jeho přítomnost v nádorovém prostředí může sloužit jako potenciální prognostický marker při identifikaci nádorových onemocnění a zároveň jako potenciální cíl protinádorové léčby.

Abstract:

In this thesis, I focus on the role of chemokine CXCL1 in cancer progression. The expression of CXCL1 is associated with poor prognosis in many types of cancer, including tumours of the stomach, pancreas, breast, and colon. As a part of tumour progression chemokine CXCL1 is involved in the regulation of cell proliferation, angiogenesis or metastasis of cancer cells. Presence of this protein in the cancer environment can serve as a potential prognostic marker in the identification of cancer diseases, as well as a potential target of antitumour treatment.
