Abstract:

Skladatelé Olivier Messiaen a Arvo Pärt patří mezi výrazné skladatelské osobnosti dvacátého století. Oba autoři se zabývali převážně duchovní tvorbou a oba byli natolik specifičtí, že si každý z nich vytvořil svoji vlastní kompoziční techniku. Obě tyto techniky jsou zvukově hodně rozdílné i přesto, že v nich můžeme nalézt společné prvky a rysy. Jejich zvukovost je pro ně naprosto klíčová a určující. Technika tintinnabuli je založena na jednom akordickém centru a zvukově jsou pro ní charakteristické diatonické disonance. Celkové vyznění skladeb složených tintinnabuli technikou je hodně meditativní. Olivier Messien si vytvořil svůj vlastní systém modů a rytmů, který také vnáší do jeho skladeb typickou zvukovost. Jeho kompozice jsou typické svoji barevností a expresivitou. Často v jeho partiturách nalezneme nevšední nástroje a způsoby hry. Práce je změřena na popis kompozičních technik Oliviera Messiaena a Arvo Pärta a na jejich následné uplatnění v duchovních skladbách. Práce dále obsahuje rozbory vybraných skladeb těchto autorů. Rozbor je pojat jak po stránce formální, tak i například podle aktuálního užití kompozičních technik. Práce se zamýšlí nad vývojem duchovní hudby a nad užitými skladebnými prostředky. Popisuje rozdíly v chápání duchovní hudby minulosti a dneška. Diplomová práce zachycuje vlivy středověké duchovní hudby a poukazuje na jejich dozvuky v soudobých kompozicích.

Abstract:

Composers Oliver Messiaen and Arvo Pärt belong to the outstanding personalities of the 20 th century music. They both deal with mostly spiritual works and each of them was so unique that he created his own specific composition technique. Both of these techniques are very different in sound despite the common features that can be found in them.Their sounding is the most crucial and determing thing. The technique of tintinnabuli is based on one chord centre and the sound typical for it are diatonic discordancies. The final effect of the compositions made by tintinnabuli technique is very meditative. Olivier Messiaen created his own system of modes and rhytms which bring the typical sounding to his compositions, being typical for their colour and expressiveness.Unusual instruments and ways of playing can be found quite often in his scores. This work concentrates on the description of the techniques of composition of Olivier Messiaen and Arvo Pärt and their following use in spiritual compositions. Next there are analyses of selected pieces by these authors.The analyses have been interpreted both accordimd to the form and for example the upcoming use of the techniques of composition. The work ponders on the development of sacred (spiritual ) music and on the used means of composition. It describes the differencies in perception and understanding spiritual music from past to present. The diploma paper (graduation thesis) observes the influenses od mediaeval sacred music and points out its consequencies in contemporary compositions.
