Perspective Woody Plants in Conditions of the Ongoing Climate Changes

Abstract:

Klimatické změny zvyšují míru stresu působícího na dřeviny a ovlivňují tedy výběr používaných dřevin ve městech i v krajině. Snahou literární rešerše je zjistit, s jakými klimatickými změnami se potýkáme, jak tyto změny působí na dřeviny, jakými vlastnostmi by měly perspektivní dřeviny disponovat a které taxony jsou v současné době považovány za perspektivní. Ve druhé části práce byl zkoumán stav dřevin v kontextu klimatických změn v různých funkčních typech zeleně ve městě Brně, a to jak v městské, tak i v krajinné zeleni. Cílem bylo vyhodnotit, jakým způsobem dřeviny v modelových lokalitách snáší vliv klimatických změn. Výsledné hodnocení stavu dřevin je následně konfrontováno s odbornou literaturou.

Abstract:

Climate changes are increasing the level of stress on woody plants and therefore influencing the choice of woody plants used in cities and landscape. The aim of this work is to find out what climate changes we are facing, how these changes affect woody plants, what characteristics should perspective woody plants have and which taxa are currently considered perspective according to the literature. The second part of this thesis investigates the state of woody plants in the context of climate change in different functional types of greenery in Brno, both in urban and landscape greenery. The aim was to evaluate how the tree species in the model sites tolerate the impact of climate change. The resulting assessment of the condition of trees is then confronted with the literature.
