Choosed laboratory methods used in modern medicine in diagnosis determination and the treatment procedure of certain diseases.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o vybraných laboratorních metodách, konkrétně o absorpční fotometrii a hmotnostní spektrometrii a jejich využití v moderní medicíně. U každé metody je popsán princip, instrumentace a také samotné využití při diagnostice. Absorpční fotometrie se využívá při diagnostice karcinomu jícnu, hmotnostní spektrometrie má pak nezastupitelné místo v novorozeneckém screeningu, konkrétně při diagnostice vrozených metabolických poruch nebo při stanovení diagnózy mnohočetného myelomu. U obou zmíněných metod jsou v předložené práci popsány jejich výhody a nevýhody. V poslední části se bakalářská práce věnuje možnému využití v budoucnosti. Hmotnostní spektrometrie je oproti absorpční fotometrii metoda modernější, a proto se v budoucnu počítá s větším rozvojem a využitím právě této metody.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with selected laboratory methods, namely absorption photometry and mass spectrometry and their use in modern medicine. For each method the principle, instrumentation and also the actual use in diagnostics is described. Absorption photometry is used in the diagnosis of oesophageal cancer, mass spectrometry has an irreplaceable place in neonatal screening, specifically in the diagnosis of congenital metabolic disorders or in the diagnosis of multiple myeloma. The submitted work describes their advantages and disadvantages for both of these methods. In the last part, the bachelor thesis is devoted to possible use in the future. Mass spectrometry is a more modern method than absorption photometry and therefore it is expected to develop and use this method more in the future.
