Small metal artifacts from Roman Period found on the settlement in Hevlín, distr. Znojmo

Abstract:

Archeologický soubor čítající 105 nálezů byl zanalyzován prostřednictvím kresebné a fotografické dokumentace, jež poslouží Jihomoravskému muzeu k inventarizaci. Na základě porovnání tohoto souboru s literaturou byla provedena kategorizace do skupin a typů včetně chronologického zařazení. Veškeré údaje o artefaktech jsou zpracované do Microsoft Access 2016 a geografická poloha je zobrazena v rámci geografického informačního systému (GIS). Součástí souboru byly rovněž stříbrné nálezy evokující přítomnost elit na zkoumaném území. V závěru práce je pak diskutována souvislost žárového pohřebiště zpracované E. Beningerem se zkoumaným souborem.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is analysis, criticism of resources, and interpretation. The artifacts were detected by detector prospection in Hevlín. Small metal findings that form mostly clips, then also belt fittings and spurs. The file represents a comprehensive collection of 105 pieces of artifacts, whose integral part of which are expensive metal items evoking the presence of local elites in this locality. All items were stored in the South Moravian Museum in Znojmo. On the site of the collected artifacts there is a Germanic settlement from the 2nd to the 4th century. The bachelor thesis contains file documentation, material distribution into categories, their subsequent chronology, and subsequent creation of a database in MS Access. The result of this work is: A) Trying to quantify the occurrence of the Roman import, which is compared with scientific publications. B) Find out between the quantitative and chronological dependence with the map output in GIS (geographic information systems), where the spatial location of findings in the locality and their subsequent comparison in graphs is monitored. C) An effort to determine the context of artifacts with heat burial grounds lying northwest of Hevlín in the "Schinderi-Äcker" position using Eduard Beninger's publication from 1930. We hope that our research will provide the correct insight into the issue and through the framework inserting of the data obtained. At the same time, we contribute our bachelor thesis again a bit more to understand the development of Roman time not only for Hevlín and Dyjákovice, but also Moravia.
