The Night Image of an Urban Space – A Concept Based on Artificial Lighting

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá možnostmi použití umělého osvětlení v projektech krajinářské architektury. V teoretické části práce jsou popsány zdroje světla, historie umělého osvětlení, technické a výtvarné požadavky osvětlovacích prvků, typologie a metody osvětlování v objektech krajinářské architektury. V případových studiích je zhodnoceno pojednání noční scény na vybraných příkladech v České republice a v zahraničí. Druhá část práce se zabývá městem Hodonín, kde je zhodnocena noční scéna města. Na vybraných modelových územích autobusového nádraží a parku u zimního stadionu je zpracována ideová koncepce nočního obrazu uplatňující získané poznatky. Obě území jsou reprezentativními místy města, slouží jako nástupní prostory a propojení s centrem města a vlakovým nádražím. Autobusové nádraží je pojednáno jako brána do města, prostor, který primárně určuje dopravní funkce, prostupnost a dobrá orientace. Park u zimního stadionu je centrálním městským parkem, jehož podoba je motivy částečně navrácena do historické podoby z 50. let a reaguje na požadavky programové náplně současnosti. Na základě provedených průzkumů a rozborů modelových území byla vypracována studie, jejíž hlavním cílem je využití potenciálu místa, zatraktivnění pro obyvatele a navrácení ztracené atmosféry. Přínos práce je ve vytvoření podkladu pro obnovu a rozvoj obou městských prostorů v blízké budoucnosti.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of using artificial lighting in landscape architecture projects. The theoretical part describes sources of light, the history of artificial lighting, technical and visual requirements and the typology and methods of illumination of objects in landscape architecture. In the case studies, selected examples from the Czech Republic and abroad are assessed in terms of the concept of the night scene. The second part of the thesis deals with Hodonín and it evaluates the night scene of the city. The ideological concept of the night image using the gained knowledge is drawn up on selected model areas of the bus station and the park by the ice hockey arena. Both areas are representative parts of the city and they serve as locations of departure and connect the city centre and the railway station. The bus station is treated as a gateway to the city, a space that primarily determines the transport function, passableness and good orientation. The park by the ice rink is a central city park whose historical form of the 1950s is partially restored through the motives of its look and which responds to the current program requirements. Based on the conducted research and analyses of the model areas, a study was carried out; its main aim is to make use of the potential of the location, make it attractive for the inhabitants and restore its lost atmosphere. The contribution of the work is to create materials for the restoration and development of both urban areas in near future.
