French-algerian relations and their impact on international relations

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vzájemnými vztahy Francie a Alžírska od roku 1830, kdy se Alžírsko stalo francouzskou kolonií až do současnosti. Cílem práce je analyzovat vývoj těchto vztahů a potvrdit či zamítnout hypotézu, zda společná koloniální minulost ovlivnila zásadním způsobem současné vztahy těchto dvou zemí. Práce se na úvod zabývá obdobím, kdy bylo Alžírsko pod koloniální nadvládou Francie, popisuje toto období a působení Francie. Pokračuje obdobím alžírské války za nezávislost, osvobozením Alžírska od koloniální nadvlády a dále se zabývá rozborem vzájemných vztahů obou zemí už v době, kdy mezi nimi nebyl závislý vztah kolonie a kolonizátora. Práce končí současností a aktuální situací mezi oběma zeměmi.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the relations between France and Algeria since 1830, when Algeria became a French colony, until today. The aim of the paper is to analyse the development of this relation and to confirm or reject the hypothesis, whether the common colonial past significantly affected the current relations of the two countries. The beginning of the thesis deals with the period, when Algeria was under colonial rule of France, describes this era and the acts of the French. It continues by the period of the Algerian War of Independence, the liberation of Algeria and their relations after the colonial rule. Lastly the work analyses the current situation and approaches of the both parties.
