Mediation Activities at the Vocational School for Catering

Abstract:

The subject of this bachelor's thesis is the inclusion of language teaching activities in German lessons for future cooks and waiters and waitresses and, in addition, the empirical examination of, how these activities are perceived by the target group. The work is divided into three parts. The first part contains the theoretical basis for the development of the self-designed language mediation activities and for the subsequent action research, including the historical development of mediation and mediation in vocational foreign language teaching. The second part consists of two self-designed mediation activities, which are linked by the topic of the future profession. The focus of these mediation activities is on the implementation of work-related activities in the classroom. The third, empirical part of the bachelor's thesis, contains the research description, whose aim was to find out and describe, to what extent future cooks, waiters and waitresses consider mediation activities to be useful and whether they are aware of the potential of these activities for developing their communication skills. At the very end, the results are analysed and discussed.

Abstract:

Předmětem předložené bakalářské práce je zařazení mediačních aktivit do výuky německého jazyka u budoucích kuchařů a kuchařek, číšníků a číšnic a empirické ověření, jak tyto aktivity budou vnímány touto cílovou skupinou. Tato závěrečná práce je rozdělena do tří částí. První část obsahuje teoretická východiska pro tvorbu vlastních mediačních aktivit a následného akčního výzkumu, mj. se zde zmiňuje o historickém vývoji mediace, či o mediaci v odborném cizojazyčném vzdělávání. Druhou část tvoří dvě mediační aktivity dle vlastního návrhu, které propojuje tématika budoucího povolání. Důraz u těchto mediačních aktivit je kladen na implementaci do výuky směrem k budoucí profesi. Třetí, empirická část bakalářské práce obsahuje popis výzkumu, jehož cílem bylo zachytit a popsat, do jaké míry považují budoucí kuchaři a kuchařky, číšníci a číšnice mediační aktivity za smysluplné a zda si uvědomují potenciál těchto aktivit pro rozvoj svých komunikačních dovedností. V samotném závěru jsou výsledky analyzovány a diskutovány.
