BYOD - Deployment Study

Abstract:

Tato práce pojednává o fenoménu Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) a bezpečnosti firemních dat. První část této práce je teoreticky laděná a snaží se přiblížit problematiku BYOD. Jsou zde zmíněny důvody jejího vzniku a stručně rozebrány přínosy i rizika BYOD. Teoretická část pokračuje informacemi o zajištění bezpečnosti firemních dat s hlavním zaměřením na mobilní telefony a tablety. Druhá část práce je zaměřena na studii nasazení BYOD v konkrétním firemním prostředí. V této části práce je provedena analýza a zhodnocení současného stavu firemní IT infrastruktury. Na analýzu navazuje návrh změn bezpečnostní politiky, pro zajištění vyšší bezpečnosti dat.

Abstract:

This thesis discusses the phenomenon of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and the security of corporate data. The first part of this work is theoretically focused and is trying to clarify the BYOD issue. There are mentioned reasons for its origin and briefly discussed the benefits and risks of BYOD. The theoretical part continues with information of assuring security of corporate data with the main focus on mobile phones and tablets. The second part is focused on the study on BYOD in specific corporate environment. In this part of the thesis there is an analysis and evaluation of the current status of corporate IT infrastructure. The analysis is followed by a suggestion for changes in security policy, to ensure a higher security of the data.
