Effect of educational requirements on problematic behavior of mental retarded persons

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl zjistit, jaký vliv má střídání výchovného prostředí rodiny a instituce na problémové chování adolescentů s mentálním postižením. Teoretická část práce se zabývá poznatky z oblasti problémového chování osob s mentálním postižením, dále jsou popsány způsoby výchovy těchto jedinců. Cílem empirické části práce bylo zjistit, zda rozdílné požadavky při výchově osoby s mentálním postižením souvisí s problémovým chováním těchto jedinců. Výzkum byl doplněn obsahovou analýzou charakteristik zkoumaných osob, z nichž bylo zjišťováno, zda rozdílné emotivní ladění charakteristiky zkoumaných osob od rodiče a vychovatele souvisí s problémovým chováním zkoumaných osob. Výzkumu se zúčastnili rodiče a vychovatelé adolescentů s mentálním postižením žijících na brněnském internátu Elpis. Navrhované hypotézy nebyly výzkumem potvrzeny. Přesto u zkoumaných osob, jejichž rodiče se účastnili obou částí výzkumu, bylo zjištěno, že zkoumané osoby s nejproblematičtějším chováním mají mírně rozdílné až rozdílné charakteristiky a stejně tak mírně rozdílné až rozdílné požadavky při výchově. Naopak u zkoumaných osob s nejméně problematickým chováním nebyl zjištěn rozdíl v požadavcích při výchově. Z tohoto důvodu doporučuji téma k dalšímu zkoumání.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis aims to identify how a changeover of tuitional environment influences problem behavior of mentally disabled adolescents. The theoretical part deals with the knowledge of the problem behavior of persons with mental disabilities and it also describes the ways of upbringing of these individuals. The aim of the empirical part of the thesis was to determine if the differences in upbringing requirements for persons with mental disabilities were to be associated with problem behavior of individuals. The research was complemented with content analysis examining the characteristics of persons, from which was investigated if different emotional tuning of characteristics of the people surveyed, from parents to educators, were associated with problem behavior of the examined people. Parents and educators of the mentally disabled adolescents living in the dormitory Elpis in Brno took part in the research. The proposed research hypotheses were not confirmed. It was found, however, among the examined individuals, whose parents participated in both parts of the research, that the people with the most problematic behavior have slightly different to different characteristics as well as slightly different to different requirements of education. In contrast, among people with the least problematic behavior there was no difference in the demands of education. For this reason, I recommend this topic for further research.
