Corrosion degradation of duralumin alloys rivet joints used in the automotive and aerospace industries

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá korozní degradací nýtových spojů duralových slitin v automobilovém a leteckém průmyslu. Práce kombinuje rešeršní zpracování s experimentálním výzkumem. V teoretické části jsou představeny základní principy koroze, charakteristiky korozní degradace u klíčových technických materiálů, úvod do duralových slitin a představení nýtových spojů. Experimentální část zahrnuje metodiku přípravy vzorků, jejich vizuální evaluaci korozní degradace a posouzení mechanických vlastností tahovou zkouškou před a po korozní zátěži v solné komoře. Na základě výsledků jsou formulovány doporučení využití duralových slitin v návrzích nýtových spojů s rozdílným elektrodovým potenciálem.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the corrosion degradation of duralumin alloys rivet joints in the automotive and aerospace industries. The work combines literature review with experimental research. The theoretical part introduces the basic principles of corrosion, characteristics of corrosion degradation in key technical materials, an introduction to duralumin alloys following an overview of rivet joints. The experimental section includes the methodology for sample preparation, their visual evaluation of corrosion degradation, and the assessment of mechanical properties through tensile testing before and after corrosion stress in a salt spray chamber. Based on the results, recommendations for the use of duralumin alloys rivet joints in the designs with different electrochemical potentials are formulated.
