Yoga physiotherapy in multiple sclerosis

Abstract:

Úvod: Téma mé bakalářské práce nese název Fyzioterapie roztroušené sklerózy pomocí jógy. Snažím se zde shrnout problematiku tohoto neurologického onemocnění a přiblížit možnosti fyzioterapeutických metod a konceptů. Píši zde také o fyzickém, ale i psychickém účinku jógy. Cíl práce: Cílem práce je přispět k řešení problematiky fyzioterapie správnou volbou fyzioterapeutických postupů, konceptů a metod u pacientky s roztroušenou sklerózou. Metodika: Metodika řešení mé bakalářské práce je formou kvalitativního sběru dat. Jedná se o kazuistiku jedné pacientky. Tento kvalitativní výzkum byl proveden v domácím prostředí pacientky. Prvním krokem případové studie bylo odebrání anamnézy formou rozhovoru a provedení kineziologického rozboru (antropometrie, goniometrie, vyšetření reflexů, svalové síly, pohybových stereotypů, spasticity, pyramidových jevů, rovnováhy, hlavových nervů, mozečkových funkcí, čití, dechového stereotypu, stoje, chůze a neurologické vyšetření břicha) . Dále na základě vyšetření byl stanoven krátkodobý fyzioterapeutický plán. Byly použity tyto metody: PNF, DNS, Metoda R. Brunkow, Brüggeruv koncept. Dále jsem využila aktivní pohyb, kondiční cvičení, měkké techniky, dechová cvičení, postizometrickou relaxaci a jógové pozice. Po šesti terapiích, co jsem docházela za pacientem, byl proveden kontrolní kineziologický rozbor. Posledním krokem bylo výstupní kineziologické vyšetření, stanovení dlouhodobého fyzioterapeutické vyšetření a shrnutí práce s pacientem. Výsledky: Viditelné zlepšení jsem viděla především u rozsahu pohybu, celkového držení těla a psychiky pacientky. Zvýšila se kondice, zlepšil se stereotyp dechu a snížil se pocit únavy. Došlo k úpravě svalových dysbalancí. Závěry: Závěrem mé práce jsem zhodnotila a porovnala výsledky vstupního a výstupního vyšetření. Fyzioterapeutická intervence měla pozitivní vliv na snížení únavy a zvýšení kondice pacientky.

Abstract:

Introduction: The topic of my bachelor thesis is entitled Yoga physiotherapy in multiple sclerosis. I try to summarize the issue of this neurological disease and approach the possibilities of physiotherapeutic methods and concepts. I also write here about the physical as well as the psychological effect of yoga. The objective: The aim of the work is to contribute to the solution of the problem of physiotherapy with the right choice of physiotherapeutic procedures, concepts and methods in a patient with multiple sclerosis. Methodology: The methodology of solving my bachelor thesis is in the form of qualitative data collection. This is a case report of one patient. This qualitative research was performed in the patient's home environment. The first step of the case study was to take a history in the form of an interview and perform a kinesiological analysis (anthropometry, goniometry, examination of reflexes, muscle strength, movement stereotypes, spasticity, pyramidal phenomena, balance, cranial nerves, cerebellar functions, sensation, respiratory stereotype, standing, walking, neurological examination of the abdomen). Furthermore, a short-term physiotherapy plan was determined on the basis of the examination. The following methods were used: PNF, DNS, R. Brunkow method, Brugger's concept. I also used active movement, conditioning exercises, soft techniques, breathing exercises, postisometric relaxation and yoga positions. After six therapies I went to the patient, a control kinesiological analysis was performed. The last step was the final kinesiological examination, determination of long-term physiotherapeutic examination and summary of work with the patient. Results: I saw a visible improvement especially in the range of motion, overall posture and psyche of the patient. Conditions increased, the stereotype of the breath improved and the feeling of fatigue decreased. Muscle imbalances were corrected. Conclusions: At the end of my work I evaluated and compared the results of the entrance and exit examination. Physiotherapy intervention had a positive effect on reducing fatigue and increasing the patient's condition.
